WARBOYS WALKERS – PROGRAMME 2024/25

All arrangements may be subject to change at short notice. In such circumstances, details will be circulated by e-mail.

** The Start will be away from Warboys. Those walkers who are prepared to use their cars are requested to congregate near the Clock Tower, High Street, Warboys at the appointed time where lifts will be arranged for those without transport. Please note that not all of the starts are at the usual time of 10.00 a.m. at weekends. Walkers tend to wait between Nos. 6 and 10 High Street where cars can be parked.

*** These evening walks will start away from Warboys. Those walkers who are prepared to use their cars are requested to congregate at the Clock Tower at 1840 where lifts will be arranged for those without transport. The various start points are: Lady Wood – Cross Keys PH, Upwood; Abbots Ripton/Wennington – The Elm PH, Abbots Ripton; Great Fen – Great Fen Information Point Car Park (St Mary’s-Holme road); Ramsey – Clock, Great Whyte; Woodwalton Fen – Car Park(Ramsey Heights); Godmanchester – Bridge Place car park, Godmanchester; Hinchingbrooke – Hinchingbrooke Country Park Car Park; Houghton Meadows – Houghton village centre. The start time will be 1900 from these points.

1. Most daytime walks are planned to have a break at a public house or cafe. Where the venue is unable to provide suitable food, the leader will send an e-mail to walkers in the preceding week.
2. Walks will not be cancelled by inclement weather, unless nobody gathers at the clock.
3. Those people who wish to join “away walks” from the start point are asked to apprise the leader of their intentions.
4. If a route is not walkable because of conditions, e.g. flooding, the leader will select an alternative route.
5. Details of walks 7 (Peak District), 30 (Peak District) and 36 (December Special) will be circulated in advance by the leader (SW) by e-mail.
6. Whilst every care has been taken in planning these walks, people take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own actions.
