Around 1900 there were over 30 Public Houses and Beer Houses in the Parish of Warboys. Many closed down and became private houses. If you walk around the village you can still see some private houses retaining the old name of the Public House or Beer House which used to occupy the building.
Now there are only 2 Public houses left in the village of Warboys: ‘The Royal Oak’ and the ‘White Hart’.
You can see several of the old Public Houses and Beer Houses in this web site, if you have more and own the copyright we would be pleased to publish them.
Also add the Black Lion to the list.
