The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations took place over a dull and rainy 4 days (2 to 5 June 2012). The Crown did not stand out significantly during such a grey day but see the adjacent night time view of the Crown!
The street party was held in the High Street between Popes Lane and the Clock Tower, but nearer Popes Lane end. It was held on Sunday 3 June 2012 and this end of the High Street was closed to traffic. The seated area was covered for the whole width of the road and pavement. This view from the Clock Tower shows stalls run by Warboys organisations and the covering of the whole street party. The steady rain keeping most people under cover.
This view is from Popes Lane end showing the covered street party with everyone trying to keep under cover due to the steady rain.
