F.O.W.L is a group of volunteers who support our local library with a view to playing an important role in Warboys library’s development. Although we function independently of the Library Service, we work closely with library staff to achieve this goal.

Aims of the Friends of Warboys Library.
• To promote and encourage the use of the Library and it’s development.
• To assist and support the Library staff in making the facilities relevant.
• To raise funds to ensure the survival of the Library.

The group was founded in 2004 and produced the ‘Warboys Directory’, a printed directory in 2005/6 and produced a new updated version in 2009.  The group have been running for over 14 years and has happily achieved the production of this website, since 2008, listing village organisations and amenities as well as the history and historical pictures of Warboys. We hope you find it useful, and welcome any constructive feedback.

The group holds a regular Saturday morning coffee session at the Library from 10.30am to 12 noon, everyone welcome to drop in.  Why not have a cup of tea/coffee while you browse on Saturday morning!

You can also frequently find a taxing quiz at the Information Desk – great for those of you who enjoy exercising those grey cells.

Starting at the beginning of October 2016 the Friends have started purchasing the top ten fiction paperbacks based on W H Smith’s top ten fiction paperbacks and the Sunday Times top 10 fiction paperbacks. So that people in other libraries cannot reserve them and take them from Warboys the library service have allowed the books to be non-reserveable for 6 months. These books can be borrowed like any other library book. If the book you are after is not on the shelf there is a chance that a library service purchase is on the shelves.
